The Journey to Salesforce Dev Program Expands to the U.S. and Canada
If you’ve ever heard of the Journey to Salesforce program (or if you’ve actively sought it out) and you’re in the U.S. or Canada, you may have come to the unfortunate conclusion that you’re ineligible to participate based on your country of residence. Well, good news! As of this Wednesday (11/8), it looks like the dev program has been made available to us. Yay!
A quick overview of Journey to Salesforce:
- The program began in 2019 and started exclusively for residents of India aiming to be placed in developer positions.
- It recently expanded to U.S. and Canada residents, but the mission and goal of the program remains the same — gain expertise and ultimately work in Salesforce development.
- It’s largely an independent program run through Trailhead that you are in charge of completing, however there are periodic live office hour sessions you can attend to ask questions and get guidance.
- Access the Journey to Salesforce site to register. There seem to be no prerequisites and anyone can sign up, regardless of level of experience.
- There is a Slack channel for the program — I haven’t quite found this yet, but will post when I find the direct link or reference to it.
As a Salesforce Architect with historically little time to dive into dev concepts, I’ve been waiting for something like Journey to Salesforce to pop up to help guide me through the vastness of dev knowledge. Coincidentally, it’s also being released at a great time as I’m focusing on getting my small-scale Education consulting company (Sand Run Consulting) set up, and rounding out my own technical skills.
I’d love to hear about any experiences others have had with Journey to Salesforce in comments. And good luck to all on your dev journey!
